The Institute of Public Relations and Culture (IPRC) of the Japanese Embassy in Korea in Anguk-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul will hold a \u00eb\u00b0\u00a1ew Year\u00eb\u00ad\u00a9 Japanese Culture Exhibition starting January 16 to mark the new year.<\/p>\n
The exhibition has been held every January since 1998, starting with \u00eb\u00b0\u0192n Exhibition of New Year\u00eb\u00ad\u00a9 Sceneries in Korea and Japan. The first event for the year 2016 is an exhibition of Japanese traditional art, \u00eb\u00b0\u00ackiyoe, which is a style of drawing that illustrates the lives of ordinary Japanese people from the Muromachi era to the late Edo period (14th to 19th centuries).<\/p>\n
Other cultural events include \u00eb\u00b1\u201che concert of Tennyoja, a duo consisting of a synthesizer player and a singer who perform mainly on Japan\u00eb\u00ad\u00a9 NHK, Japanese-style rice cake-making workshops, and handicraft lectures on kites, shiori (Japanese bookmarks) and kirie. DVD screenings of Japanese films and animated movies, such as \u00eb\u00b0\u00aeibrator; \u00eb\u00b0\u201eayside Shakedown: The Movie 2; \u00eb\u00b0\u0161aputa: Castle in the Sky; \u00eb\u00b0\u00a1ausicaa of the Valley of Wind, and \u00eb\u00b0\u00a0usashi Miyamoto will be also held.<\/p>\n
All the events are free. The concert and handicraft are signed up for on a first-come first-served basis. Visiting the exhibition hall or watching movies is open to walk-in visitors. Random visitors will also be given souvenirs by lot<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
