BONTOC, Mountain Province, Dec. 17 — Scores of visitors in this capital town have started to buy the unique handicraft and native products mostly under the program One Town, One Product (OTOP) for sale at the 20th Mountain Province handicrafts exposition until Sunday.

Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) provincial officer Juliet Lucas said the exposition gave to the local producers last year an aggregate net earnings of some P1.28 million.

“Maybe we can reach that amount of aggregate earnings again because many of our products remain very attractive to our visitors, friends and customers. Among the very saleable products are abaca fiber products, furniture, processed foods, gifts and souvenir items, fruit wines and processed Arabica coffee,” she said.

She said that through the OTOP, the saleability of the special products for each town was enhanced because of the workmanship and quality control observed by their respective producers. (PNA)
