Yogyakarta, (ANTARA News) – The government`s Visit Indonesia Year (VIY) 2008 program projected to draw seven million foreign tourists may provide a big opportunity for the country`s handicraft products.
Director of the Association of Indonesian Handicraft Industries Development (APIKIRI), Amir Fanzuri said in Yogyakarta on Monday that the projected seven million foreign tourists to Indonesia may be be attracted and buy handicraft products in the different handicraft centers in the country.
“Handicraft products cannot be seen apart from tourism, because most foreign tourist will seek specific local handicraft products to take home to their countries as souvenirs,” he said.(*)
