Balongan refinery stops operation due to earthquake
Jakarta Post, Indonesia
JAKARTA (Antara): Indramayu-based Balongan oil refinery is forced Thursday to halt its operation within the next three days after Wednesday night powerful earthquake caused power failure in the refinery compound.
State oil and gas firm Pertamina Ari Hernanto Soemarno said the Balongan refinery would resume its operation three days later.
He said fuel stock at home would not be disrupted as Pertamina would delay the maintenance of the Balikpapan refinery, which falls this week, to help maintain the fuel stock at the current level.
The Balongan refinery has a production capacity of 165,662 barrel per day. (***)
