Indonesia : President urges banks to grant loans for handicraft producers

The President, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, requested banks to provide loans to handicraft producers on Bantual regency, so that they can come out of economic crises faced after earthquake in May.
He told banks to provide loans on the requirement and situation of handicraft producers
Yudhoyono also stressed on need to improve quality of the products to compete in international market.
He even suggested two strategies that can help handicraft producers to strengthen themselves in domestic market and developing overseas markets.
The devastating quake in Yogyakarta and Central Java killed 5,800 people and 200,000 people became homeless.
