Yokwe, CA
Unique and beautiful Marshallese handicraft will be featured at the Micronesian Cultural Festival this Saturday, October 28. Francyne “Mattu” Wase of the Marshallese Committee wants to get the word out about this special event.
The Festival will be held at the Hawaii Convention Center from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Marshallese handicraft, which will be for sale, will be displayed in the Maui Room 316.
Organized by the Hawaii Office of Community Service, the Cultural Exchange will feature the islands in the Micronesian region: Belau, Chuuk, Marshall Islands, Yap, Pohnpei, and Kosrae.
The purpose of this event is to promote cultural understanding between the people of these islands and the people of Hawaii.
There will be an array of activities on that day including performances, guest speakers, educational skits, and cultural displays.
Marshallese and friends in Hawaii are encouraged to attend and support their home islands! The event is open and free to the public with $5.00 parking.
