Foreign tourists enjoy vacation in Bali

Denpasar (ANTARA News) – Foreign tourists who visited Bali have enjoyed their vacation in some favourite tourist destinations though the US and Australian governments had issued them travel advisories.
“I know about the travel advisory, but I have nothing to worry in Bali,” Robert Dunn, a tourist from Britain, said in Kuta on Sunday.
Dunn said he often heard about the advisory, but he trusted the Indonesian government in dealing with terrorism.
“Terrorism is everywhere not only in Indonesia,” he added.
Foreign tourists visiting Legian and Seminyak were also not worried about possible terrorist attacks as the Australian and US governments had warned in their travel advisories.
They spent their time shopping, enjoying beautiful panorama on beaches, having conversations at cafes or restaurants or visiting tourist places.
Though some stores and kiosks were still closed on the occasion of the Hindu day of seclusion Thursday, many tourists were still visiting various traditional handicraft stores which have already started business as usual.
Some vacationers even took pictures of a monument erected to commemorate the Bali bomb blasts in 2002, killing more 200 foreign tourists, mostly Australians.
In the meantime police have deployed openly or secretly their personnel in some strategic areas. (*)
