Short Street Cakes will host the first in a series of local, handmade craft markets called “Howard Street Handmade†from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. March 21.
Short Street Cakes is at 227 Haywood Road, at the intersection of Haywood Road and Howard Street. More than 20 vendors featuring all-handmade crafts will display their wares in the renovated brick building adjacent to West Asheville’s new cake shop.
Featuring acclaimed artists in the fields of ceramics, clothing design, home accoutrements, quilting, jewelry, felting, bookmaking, printing and painting, Howard Street Handmade will offer gifts and wearables in a festive, neighborhood atmosphere, according to the press release.
This fair is the first in a series.
Howard Street Handmade coincides with the beginning of new, extended hours for the Cake Shop. The Cake Shop will be open until 6 p.m. the day of the first Howard Street Handmade and will be selling cupcakes and coffee.
