New Delhi, March 17 Singapore-based banking major DBS has opened a branch in   Moradabad eyeing the manufacturers and exporters of the region&aposs handicraft industries.
” Located in a city renowned for exporting brass handicrafts throughout the world, the branch will offer a comprehensive suite of products and services to serve SME customers in the regions handicraft industries,”the bank said in a statement.
Apart from providing doorstep-banking, cash management and cash and cheque pickup-and-drop services, the branch will also provide wealth advisory services.
The Moradabad branch, DBS Banks eighth in India, will join an existing network in the cities of Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, Nashik, New Delhi and Pune,.
” Moradabad is an important growth market for DBS. The branch will enable DBS to serve local enterprises expanding in India and across the region. It will also help us strengthen existing client relationships and make new ones,” Chief Executive Officer of DBS India Sanjiv Bhasin said.
The statement further said that with two more branches to be launched in Salem and Surat soon, DBS Bank will have a presence in 10 cities across the country by April 2009.
Headquartered in Singapore, DBS Bank is one of the largest financial services groups in Asia. It has operations spanning across 16 markets, including China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia and Taiwan.
