Viet Nam pours 600 million USD into projects in Laos

Viet Nam has invested about 600 million USD in economic-development projects in Laos since 1989, the Lao Planning and Investment Ministry said in a recent report.
These projects focus mainly on the fields of agriculture, industry and handicraft, garment, trade, banking, hotel-restaurant business, energy and mining.
The agro-forestry sector has attracted 25 projects worth 117 million USD, while the mining sector drawn 15 projects worth 33 million USD.
With two hydropower plant projects, the energy sector has attracted much more money, about 270 million USD.
All projects invested by Vietnamese investors have been considered as important contribution to Laos’s economic development, thus helping raise living conditions of the Lao people, especially those in projected areas.
