ITALIAN COMPANIES WILL PAY 300 EURO MORE NEXT YEAR

(AGI) – Rome, Nov. 11 – “As a result of the Bersani-Visco decree and the budget law, next year most Italian companies will have to pay at least 300 euro more than in 2006 in terms of manufacturing costs. This figures is set to rise even further for larger companies.
All taxpayers, however, will be affected. Natural persons will have to pay almost 100 euro more” said the secretary of Italian Handicraft Confederation (CGIA) of Mestre, Giuseppe Bortolussi, referring to the results of a recent analysis conducted by the association’s study centre. Bortolussi pointed out that one of the most expensive measures will be the obligation for manufacturing companies to maintain two separate databases of customers and suppliers.
That will cost entrepreneurs at least 100 euro. Computerised payments of salaries and taxes for self-employed workers with a VAT number will cost businesses 100 euro more. “That adds up to 200 euro” Bortolussi said. Six more obligations affecting all tax payers are also mentioned by Bortolussi. New measures concern, in particular, tax returns and the so-called single tax-return form. The agencies and individuals licensed to submit tax returns on behalf of other people, for example, will have to notify their clients of any irregularity identified by the local revenue office. In tax returns, in the building section, the following additional data will have to be filled in for each piece of real estate: address, municipality code, land registry office’s identification. As for the municipal tax on real estate (ICI) it will be assessed and paid by the licensed tax assistants on behalf of their clients (730 form), while tax payers who do not use their services will have to indicate ICI-related data in their tax returns. In 2007, a 30pct advance payment will have to be made in connection with the municipal additional tax to the personal income tax (IRPEF); in tax returns, for each building, the amount of the ICI will have to be indicated. Tax payers deducting the money paid to the spouses they separated from will have to indicate the spouse’ s tax code. Bortolussi said that the costs resulting from this increased red tape will also affect tax payers next year.(AGI) –
