Handicraft bazaar in Ha Noi

A handicraft bazaar will be held at Van Phuc Sports Centre, 73 Van Bao Street in Ha Noi on November 18.
On display will be Dong Ho folk paintings, rattan and bamboo products, lacquerwear, and silk weaving. Visitors to the bazaar can buy products made by craftspeople from ethnic minorities, such as silk and embroidery items made by the Thai of the northern provinces of Dien Bien and Son La.
Food street opens in Nha Trang
A food street will be set up at the Hai Yen Hotel and Four Seasons Tourism Park on Tran Phu Street in Nha Trang during the Sea Festival 2007 in the Central coastal city between March 30 and April 6 next year.
Well-known chefs from restaurants and tourism parks in Khanh Hoa Province will join the food promotion programme.
In addition, resorts and hotels in the province will feature their own food programmes at the sea festival 2007.
Saigontourist prepares for Tet tour
Saigontourist Travel Service Co has launched a contest to look for proposals for the tours and programmes for local and foreign travellers during the coming Tet (Lunar New Year) holidays.
Competitors should propose measures to make the Tet tours unique, as well as how and what Saigontourist tour guides would talk about on the way to destinations.
The organisers will award VND6 million travel coupons for the first winner, VND4 million for the runner-up and VND2 million coupons for third place. Winners will be announced on December 15.
Vietnam Air launches Kien Giang flights
The national flag carrier launched four direct weekly flights between HCM City and Rach Gia in Kien Giang Province on Monday.
The flights depart at Tan Son Nhat Airport at 6.30am and arrive in Rach Gia 50 minutes later on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Return airfare for the service was priced at VND1 million.
Cathay Pacific sets 60th birthday fares
Cathay Pacific Airways has announced a special promotion, for its flights to Hong Kong, Japan, London, Los Angeles and San Francisco from both Ha Noi and HCM City, to celebrate its 60th anniversary.
From Ha Noi, the carrier is offering discount return fares of US$481 to Hong Kong, $705 to Japan and $888 to London.
The offer is valid for travel from December 15 to March 15 for the Hong Kong route, by the end of December for the Japan route, and by November 15 for the London route.
From HCM City to Japan, the return fare is $555, to the US it is $820 and to London it has been reduced to $747.
The offer is valid for travel from November 1 to 30 for the Japan route, and from November 1 to December 12 for the US and London routes. — VNS
