It’s show time as the 40th annual Sandy Show takes place this weekend.
Organisers of the Sandy Horticultural Show are appealing to the community to support the event by attending in their droves.During Saturday and Sunday (August 19 and 20) exhibitors will show off their prize flowers, produce, cakes and crafts at Sandye Place Middle School
There will be prizes and awards for the best local home-grown vegetables, fruit, flowers, home cooking, photography, paintings and handicraft.
As well as the exhibits, there will also be a variety of side stalls including raffles, books, WWF, tombola and more.
Despite the continuing high standards of entries, previous years have seen a fall in the number of visitors.
A show spokesman said: “Please come along and support your local show, either by visiting and enjoying everything on display, or maybe finding out how you can take part in this annual event or help out behind the scenes on the committee. New faces are always welcome and are essential.”
The show will be open from 1.30pm on Saturday and from 10am on Sunday.
