Leading Vietnamese companies to participate at Index 2006

Many of Vietnam’s leading furnishing and interiors companies will participate at the 17th annual Index exhibition in Dubai this November, as they look to replicate their export success in other international markets.
The diverse range of products to be showcased includes indoor and outdoor ceramics, furniture, bamboo, rattan, decorative items, window blinds and embroidered textiles.
“The wide choice of products that these companies will be offering at Index 2006 represents the biggest ever presence from Vietnam,†said Kim Willis, Exhibition Development Director, dmg world media Dubai, organisers of the exhibition. “With established international reputations in their respective fields, they are aware of the additional vast potential that the Gulf, Middle East and North Africa markets represent, and have chosen Index as their regional shop window.â€
The participation of the Vietnamese companies is being coordinated by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) – “There will be at least 14 of Vietnam’s leading companies at Index 2006,†said Tran Kim Oanh, Deputy Manager, VCCI. “The show has always proven to be highly effective for our exhibitors, and this year will see a significantly expanded presence.â€
Recognised by international customers around the world as one of the leading handicraft ceramic manufacturers in Vietnam, Trung Thanh, with over 20 years experience in the ceramics sector, will be displaying an eclectic selection of fine pottery, exquisite ceramic glazes, urns and vases in all sizes, shapes and colour. Another premier Vietnamese company operating in the same product area, The Binh Duong Co., Ltd., already successfully involved in the export of indoor and outdoor pottery, timber furniture, terazza pots and furniture to the USA, Australia, Canada, France and Japan is also looking to expand its market coverage. LCK Ceramics completes a strong showing in the ceramics and timber furniture product sector.
A wide range of traditional Vietnamese handicrafts will be shown by a number of the country’s internationally renowned specialist companies, including the Dai Viet Handicraft Co. Ltd., which manufactures and exports handmade house wares and decorative goods made of natural materials such as bamboo, rattan, fern and sea grass, including window blinds, lacquered bamboo trays, boxes, bowls, and handmade embroidery including tablecloths, placemats and napkins.
High quality indoor antique furniture, marquetry products and high quality solid wood flooring (with a myriad of wood options that include Maple, White Oak, Pyinkado, White Ash, Cherry and Teak) will be displayed by the Dang Khoa Marquetry Co., Ltd., which counts Japan, The US and Greece among its many current export markets, which presently account for around 70% of the company’s total production.
Phuc Son Viet International Co., produces residential, office and library furniture plus a beautiful range of wooden models of ships and aeroplanes that are built from scratch, to scale, from the original, historical plans using exotic woods (rosewood, teak, fruitwood, kingwood, ebony, etc.). These highly detailed scale models are 100% handcrafted by their own master craftsmen, and will appeal to both avid collectors and designers looking to add some marine or aviation decorative flair to their projects and developments.
Also specialising in scale models, Thien Thuong Antique Sailing Boat has expanded its market coverage to include the USA, France, Germany, Japan and Malaysia – the company is participating at Index specifically to find agents that will represent them throughout the region. A member of the Vietnamese Handicraft Organisation (HAWA), Thien Thuong manufactures high quality wooden sailing boats, vehicles and planes, combining timber pieces with sharp details and keen appearance. The company also produces products in ceramic, bamboo, lacquer and resin, including statues.
Established since 1980, and one of Vietnam’s leading interior decoration and furniture manufacturers, the Xuan Hoa Company specialises in steel and wooden furniture including chairs, tables, beds, sofas, cabinets and clothes racks. With a thriving export business that includes Sweden (a main client is Ikea, for whom they manufacture many different products), the UK, France, Italy and Germany plus Japan, Korea and the USA, the company has received many awards at international trade fairs and exhibitions. The company’s quality management system has been certified to TCVN ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001 Certification issued by QMS (Australia) and (Vietnam Certification Services Quacert).
Index 2006, which will once again showcase the very best in furniture and interior design, takes place from 7-11 November 2006 at Dubai International Exhibition Centre.
